      First Announcement Tackle the Unmet Clinical Needs in Movement Disorders

      In view of the great impact of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington's disease, ataxia, etc., on the physical health and quality of life of patients, this academic exchange and continuing education program of Tackle the Unmet Clinical Needs in Movement Disorders aims to explore the unmet clinical needs and strategies to improve the diagnose and treat movement disorders, strengthen cooperation and exchanges between clinicians, and promote research and development in the field of movement disorders. It will explore the nature of brain diseases from the perspectives of brain health, precision neurology and through the approach of human brain banking in the field of movement disorders. This workshop is also a part of theme of "China-US Health Bridge”, “The 6th TianTan Human Brain Banking”, which will be held in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, on August 4, 2024.

      This workshop is jointly organized by the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases (hereinafter referred to as the National Center), China Science and Technology Exchange Center, and the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics; Executively Organized by National Center Human Brain & Tissue Bank, Department of Neurology, UC Davis; Neurology discipline, Peking University; Endorsed by International Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Society (MDS) and Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, 82071417.

      Well-known experts at home and abroad will give presentation in this workshop, including Professor Victor Fung, the president of the International Society of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders (MDS), Professor Antony Hannan, Co-director of the International Society for Brain Projects, Professor Irene Litvan of UC San Diego, and Professor Perminder Sachdev, Academician of the Australian Academy of Sciences, etc. Distinguished professors are also invited from China, including Professor Zhu Chen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yong-Jun Wang, advocator and leader on brain health; Professor Piu Chan, expert on movement disorders, etc.
